A graduate of Vanderbilt University's Blair School of Music, Susan has performed before numerous audiences over the last 30 years. As a vocal instructor of all ages, she has helped numerous performers overcome their fears and find vocal freedom. Former students have been accepted into numerous college programs, including, Berklee College of Music (vocal), University of South Carolina (vocal), University of Northern Colorado (musical theater), Florida State University (musical theater), Shorter University (vocal), and Reinhardt University (theater).
Susan took her first piano lesson at four years of age. By high school, she regularly accompanied both school and church choirs. At the end of her freshman year of college, Enid Katahn, professor of piano, offered to work with her. Thirty years later, she still accompanies her student's recitals., plays professionally, and accompanies local church choirs.
